Introducing our Speakers . . . 

Rob Cross

This year at our Summer Networking and Spa Directors Assembly at South Lodge, we are delighted to have secured as our keynote speaker, Rob Cross of Muru Leadership. With leadership being an issue in many differing industries, we’ll hear first-hand how Muru uses a simple, yet powerful methodology.

Although born in the UK, Rob grew up in a small country town in Victoria, Australia. From an early age he developed a deep passion for understanding people and for leadership. This passion transformed into his career and ultimately, into his purpose.
Muru, Rob’s creation, offers a completely new approach to unlocking potential. Muru Leadership believe that to achieve higher levels of success and fulfilment, you must humanise what it means to be a professional and a leader.
As humans our thoughts and behaviours are influenced by five core human dilemmas. By embracing these dilemmas, Rob and his team, believe we can lead and live with greater authenticity, purpose and mindful intention. 

To do this, Muru uses a simple, yet powerful methodology, to help:
  • Develop and project a more authentic identity.
  • Discover and adopt a stronger sense of purpose.
  • Direct your energy toward that which matters most.
In creating Muru, Rob is fulfilling his purpose in life, which is to unlock the potential in others. Muru means ‘path’ or ‘pathway’ in the Eastern Australian language of Darug. It’s an apt name for what Muru offer, as it describes the journey that we each follow in life.
We look forward to welcoming Rob to the stage. As he says of the Muru approach: we actively engage and immerse our audiences in the topic. This in turn helps to develop a genuine understanding of how one can overcome challenges and aspire to a higher level of success and fulfilment.

We’re very keen for South Lodge attendees this year, to hear from our team.

We’ve taken the opportunity to really shake things up!

There has been some massive undertakings over the last couple of years, with some fantastic behind the scenes, ideas and implementations. Through our own intensive research and by listening to you, our highly valued members, the UKSA team have identified some factors that our industry needs to address forthwith. We also now have the know-how and are excited to divulge all, when we meet.
Our General Manager, Helena Grzesk will be kicking things off with her report, and Abi Selby will then communicate our new strategy with regard to National Spa Week and how it will be launched. It’s a particularly interesting, educational and interactive campaign, so we as your association, are very excited to showcase how it will focus on trade and therefore, impact and benefit the businesses of our members.

Christine Hartigan our Vice Chair will advise on yet another of our mammoth national campaigns, in which we really aim to drive results for our industry, with your help. A third party will also be introduced. This time Gemma Dilworth, PR and Media Relations Specialist, will take the floor and lead us to understand how such a historic campaign will be launched.
These are exciting times for the UK Spa Association and with your commitment to the cause, we’ll really make a case for change.

Why Spas Should Pay Attention to EMS Training
